 1) What is independent cinema and how is it different to Hollywood blockbusters?

An independent cinema is a film made by a small team and has a low budget. This is different to a Hollywood Blockbuster because the blockbuster has a big budget and uses noticeable starts, also they have a huge production team.

I, Daniel Blake is about a man who can't work due to an illness. He changes a single mothers live as well as her two children.

3) Who directed I, Daniel Blake and why is this important?

Ken Loach directed I, Daniel Blake and it is important because since it is a small independent film they cannot use star power so rather they use director power. This is when the fans of a specific director will watch the movie they made.

4) How was I, Daniel Blake promoted to an audience? List at least three different methods used by the film's marketing campaign and how they targeted their audience.

I, Daniel Blake was promoted to the audience by:

- projecting 'I, Daniel Blake' onto the Houses of Parliament. This marketing method could have been seen by those who were protesting against the Houses of Parliament. The message might have gone across to them and they might have watched the movie as it has similar themes that they can relate to.

-the director Ken Loach appeared on BBC Question Time. This let the audience know that the director was Ken Loach and fans would watch the film when it was released. This used director power and since Ken Loach is a familiar director people would be willing to watch the film.

-the film was premiered in Newcastle. This helped the film get some local support and get more of a wider and global audience. This also allows more people to be aware of this film so therefore more people would watch the film.  

5) What unusual or creative marketing methods were used to get audiences talking about the film?

A video was released of many people saying "I, Daniel Blake" as well as other quotes from the film. They also did interviews with newspapers and magazines to promote the key message of the film.

It had an estimated production budget of £2 million and made £11 million at the box office.

10) Finally, considering everything you have learned about I, Daniel Blake, do you think the film was a success? Explain your answer in a well developed paragraph. Try and compare it to Black Widow if you can.

I believe that I, Daniel Blake was a succsess because it used cheap marketing and didn't take much money to make however thry made a good amout back. Compared to Black Widow is was a succsess as marvel expect to make around $700mil but fell really short and it didnt meat expectations where as I, Danile Blake exceeded expectations.
