They created the Avengers films because in 2007 they were recovering from bankruptcy and had to sell their rights to Spider-Man and X-Men. Since they still owned the other superhero's from the Avengers they ended up using the first MCU films to introduce these characters.

4) Who owns the rights to Spiderman and why is the character now appearing in Marvel films?

Sony now own Spider-Man but they made a partnership with marvel that allows Tom Holland's Spider-Man to appear in the MCU films. Sony however have the rights for the actual character. 

5) Which company owns the rights to the Fantastic Four and the X-Men?

The Fantastic Four and the X-Men are both owned by 21Century Fox.

Disney announced they have plans for several new marvel TV series to be streaming on Disney+.
