Media Assessment: Learner Response 1

 WWW

This is a good first assessment in GCSE Media, well done!

EBI

Read the questions carefully! This has cost you in question 5. Also make sure you avoid repetition- each paragraph should have its own key point.

  • Q1: 1/1
  • Q2: 1/1
  • Q3:6/12
  • Q4:2/2
  • Q5:1/6
  • Q6:4/8
One of my stronger questions was Q4 because I wrote connotations to the child's facial expression and to the background and I understood what the background could be showing us.

One of my weaker questions was Q5 because I didn't read the question carefully and repeated already stated ideas.

 Question 3:

Beyoncé is wearing a red dress and the colour red in the image connotates to hot or good looking. As Beyoncé is wearing the red dress this means that she is hot because she has applied the new fragrance being advertised. The advert is taken from a low angle this implies that Beyoncé, while wearing the fragrance, is powerful. This connotes to the audience that when this fragrance is applied you will have more authority and power compared to someone not wearing it. The phrase 'Catch the fever' suggests to the audience that people will get attracted to you as if you were the fever. Also since the main colour theme for the advert is red this means that the fragrance is the most trendy or hot thing. People what to be up with the new trends so they will buy the product.
