BLACKPINK Fans are known as 'Blinks' 
largely teenage girls and young women
- The audience are in the Philippines and Indonesia as well as western countries such as the UK and USA.
- interested in different cultures 

2) What audience pleasures are offered by the music video for How You Like That?

- diversion: fast-paced editing can be fun, and the scenes  are unique and interesting
- personal identity: blinks can identify with the culture and language as it's both Korean and English
- personal relationships: can build relationships with the band members and can connect to the members through the different languages  
- surveillance: audience can learn the Korean language, also some scenes they are wearing cultural clothing so  audience members can learn about their culture

- when all of the band members are standing in one frame since they can see all their favorite band all together 
- when they are all dancing at the end, since the audience can see how much effort was put in and they will appreciate the music more
- the part at 1 min and 27 sec as the background is the colours of the band name

4) How was the How You Like That music video marketed and promoted to the audience?

The video’s release was preceded by a series of teasers on the band’s social media accounts (including posters, photos focusing on individual band members and videos) and a reality show (24/365 with Blackpink)

5) Why is K-pop a global phenomenon and what has helped it to become so popular?

K-pop has become a global phenomenon because it is now a part of Western mainstream media  and is has become this popular as it is unique and is fun too watch, listen to and enjoy.

Blackpink was formed in 2016 by Korean entertainment company YG Entertainment, and by 2020, it was one of the most successful K-pop bands in the world. As of 2021, the band was the most followed girl group on Spotify and the most-subscribed music group, female act, and Asian act on YouTube.

K-pop demonstrates the global nature of the industry with BLACKPINK selling out arenas across the UK and USA as well as in the East. They played Wembley Arena in 2019 as well as a huge US music festival, Coachella.
