A conglomerate is a big media company with subsidiaries (a smaller company). This links to Black Widow since Disney owns Marvel, an example of conglomerate ownership.

Aspects of the trailer that tell you it is a big-budget blockbuster are: that it was shot in different places and scenery, and shows the Marvel logo, CGI, SFX, noticeable characters and actors, big action scenes and a large cast.

4) How was Black Widow promoted to an audience? List at least three different methods used by the film's marketing campaign and why they were effective in promoting the film.

  • Social media profiles on TikTok, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook: this was effective because almost everyone was using social media during the pandemic to stay entertained so this means everyone saw the movie teasers. This led to more people watching the movie.
  • Using tweets from audience members on massive billboards: even though most people didn't go out during the pandemic this was still effective because more people would tweet about the film since some people wanted their tweets on billboards and these tweets would let other people know about the film
  • Stars of the film appeared on TV chat shows and press events: this used star power and parasocial relationships. Since these were popular stars fans would watch them and this would spread through social media leading to more people seeing the movie  
5) What was the production budget for Black Widow and how much did it make at the box office?

Black Widows' budget was $200 mil and made $379 mil at the box office.

6) Would you consider Black Widow a successful Hollywood blockbuster? Why?
I would not consider it successful because normally Marvel movies make at least $700 mil and Black Widow didn't live up to Marvel's standards.

Films in the UK are regulated by the British Board Of Film Classification (BBFC)

8) What age rating was Black Widow given? Why?
Black Widow was given the age rating of 12A because it had moderate violence and injury detail yet it was not too graphic.

Audience interaction is important because the audience is who is going to watch the film so interaction with them is important.

some major TikTok influencers who typically cosplay as certain Disney characters have teamed up with Disney to promote the movie. Also, it did well and got 80% on rotten tomatoes.
